Beginning in the late 1980s, South China Group was founded by three financial and investment experts – Mr. Ng Hung Sang, Ms. Christina Cheung Choi Ngor and Mr. Richard Howard Gorges. In the early 1990s, South China Group was actively committed to the development of business diversification and has now become a multi-business conglomerate.
South China Group was listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in 1987.
Since 1993, South China Group has invested and developed in Mainland China through the establishment of joint ventures, mainly engaged in the manufacturing of footwear, heavy machinery and clothing. In the same year, South China Group began to expand its domestic agricultural business by transferring farmland in Guangdong Province, investing in winter dates plantations in Hebei Province and fish ponds in Nanjing.
In 1995, South China Group reorganized its business and transferred its toy manufacturing and trading business to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Wah Shing International Holdings Limited.
In 2001, South China Group and Sino Land Company Limited jointly developed a Grade A office project in Central – The Centrium. Except for the property development projects in Hong Kong, South China Group also developed its real estate development and property investment business in Mainland China. In Shenyang, China, it has developed a shopping mall namely “Avenue of Stars” and a comprehensive commercial and residential shopping mall namely “Central Square”.
Since 2007, South China Group has started to develop its fruit tree planting business in Chongqing City.
